“Woe to you who add house to house and join field to field till no space is left and you live alone in the land.”

This is a prophecy akin to the Tower of Babel story in Genesis 11. Advancement and accumulation without proper deference to God leads to the worst of all judgments -- social and spiritual aloneness.
